Nob Hill Neighborhood

Back To HomeView Properties

Nob HillJust outside of downtown, Nob Hill is near many hubs for shopping, transportation, and attractions.  It is minutes from Union Square, Chinatown, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s.  The neighborhoods are mostly made up of three to four-story apartment buildings, with more exclusive high-rise residences at the top of the hill.  For the most part, Nob Hill is consists of quiet, safe residential streets.  As the hill descends, a mix of retail stores, restaurants, and nightlife – ranging from generations-old institutions to new and trendy – begin to line the streets.

Nob Hill originally found itself as the home of railroad tycoons and gold rush millionaires.  Its sweeping views and proximity to downtown and the waterfront made it prime real estate once the invention of cable cars made it possible to climb San Francisco’s steep hills.  This region’s prominence during this past era remains seen today as grandiose mansions, regal hotels, and a historic gothic cathedral line Huntington Park in the center of Nob Hill.
